Wow what a weekend! ETU (European Triathlon Union) Championship standard distance event on Saturday (Bilbao, Spain) in which Sian and Ross were representing TeamGB whilst Michael was racing an IM70.3 in Salalah, Oman. Excellent performances and results all round 😊

Then, on Sunday, Jacqui, Steve and Charlie were in Berlin giving Eliud Kipchoge some support as they ran the marathon, whilst Holly completed her first Tough Mudder and Paul was smashing out 100 miles around the Mountbatten cycling circuit – supported by many of you – thankyou.
Next week we’ll witness the last October London marathon – Sue, Sian and Penny will be toeing the start line and overseas Emma taking on the Spartathlon challenge – good luck to all of you.
With autumn weather and darker conditions upon please remember when running / riding out and about to ideally dress to be seen and where necessary use lights – not necessary for the track, nor do you need to worry about tripping over extender dog leads, whilst focusing on your intervals / speed session!
All your training and racing accomplishments – like Mark’s sub 20-minute 5k parkrun – can be tracked through the “Grasshopper Coaching” Strava group whilst also being able to support your fellow athletes. For those who are already using the Grasshopper Coaching App there is a direct link to this Strava group. Plus, there’s plenty of chatter and support in the Grasshopper Coaching WhatsApp group.
This week’s varied running diet to help you achieve your fitness goals are:

1. #tracktuesday @6.30am – Mountbatten Running Track

2. #tracktuesday @1.30pm – Mountbatten Running Track

3. #runfitthursday @6.00am – Southsea. 8 week Run specific Run Strength session.

4. #hillsthursday @6.30pm – Farlington, B&M carpark

5. #socialfriday @7am – Broadway Coffee Roasters café, Highland Road.

The #tracktueday PM session is new and has gained support and popularity over the last three weeks, sufficient consistent numbers are required to enable this session to continue through autumn. I am also considering starting a Monday morning indoor spin session at Mountbatten or the Pyramids, plus some ad-hoc sessions on the Mountbatten bike track – please let me know if you are keen to join these sessions.
