Hello,
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of 2022 and for enabling our wonderful community of runners, swimmers, and triathletes to support each other and those in the broader community – everyone is welcome and #nooneisleftbehind.
All training sessions will continue through the Christmas / New Year period as #consistencyiskey – although this is my last Grasshopper Coaching update for 2022!
I’m very much looking forward to working with you all in 2023, to have some fun along with challenging training opportunities / events in addition to the regular weekly track, social and hills sessions. There will be a restart of open water swimming when conditions are more suitable, and we’ll even have our first Grasshopper social session in January 2023 and a high-altitude training camp!
Important dates to add to your 2023 calendar include:
Friday January 27th, 2023 – SocialFriday
Broadway Coffee Roasters café starting at 7pm.
Partners & friends welcome. £10 per person – Grasshopper cocktail (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) on arrival. Please book on the Grasshopper App. and forward me your entry £.
Sunday January 29th, 2023 – New Forest Adventure

Sunday 23rd April, 2023 – TrackDay
More details to follow soon!
Saturday June 10th, 2023 – Alpine altitude training camp – Switzerland
Join me for a week or so of high altitude running and swimming. Based in Kandersteg, in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, we’ll run a mixture of trails, roads, beautiful scenery, and a solid block of training – ideal prep for summer racing – whilst swim in the local open-air pool or maybe even in the beautiful Oeschinensee located within a UNESCO World Heritage site!
Fully catered staying in a Swiss chalet.
Contact me for full details and to reserve your spot – exact dates to be confirmed.
The festive period is a time to relax and spend time with family and friends. It’s also a great time to try something new in your training load, to slow down on your longer runs and maybe even make it out onto some trails and to give the pavements a break. Don’t forget despite the colder running conditions you still need to hydrate and to provide your muscular & skeletal systems relief through some self-care, be that rolling, some yoga and appropriate refuelling.
Wishing you a healthy and happy 2023. May all your race and training plans come to fruition!
Best wishes
Steve / Grasshopper Coaching
